CRAYONSMITH/ELK SPLIT 7"
OOAL0020 = A brand new 7 inch featuring Crayonsmith & Elk. Full news on it over here
We're delighted both acts are on board for it, and there are currently two special (and free!) launch shows lined up:

• Saturday, 26th November: Plugd Records, Cork/ Facebook Event Page
• Saturday, 17th December: Whelan's Upstairs, Dublin/ Facebook Event Page

You can listen to the tunes here, buy online from here, and pick up at Plugd Records in Cork from tomorrow, and in Elastic Witch (Dublin), Wingnut (Galway), and Tower (Dublin) from early next week. The 7" will also be available at shows for €5, and comes with a digital download. There's a fairly extensive interview with both acts over at the G-Man blog.

 

OWENSIE: ALIENS FREE DOWNLOAD/ I SAW THE FLASHING LIGHTS REMIXES
Head on over to www.owensie.bandcamp.com: the album 'Aliens' is available as a free download for a very limited period. Also available as a free download is I Saw The Flashing Lights, a series of remixes from 'Aliens'. Both the album and remix album will be coming together as a limited edition (100 copies only) cassette available on Owensie's forthcoming UK tour, and can also be pre-ordered here for €7 including worldwide shipping. INTRODUCING HIDDEN HIGHWAYS
This week we put up a tune from Hidden Highways - this is the new name for Vertigo Smyth and Carol Anne McGowan's collaborative recording and performing project. You can get a free download of their cover of 'My Rifle, My Pony, And Me' from the OOAL soundcloud page. Hidden Highways will be releasing their debut album on OOAL in 2012.

 

TEN PAST SEVEN: BLACK BOX RECORDINGS UPDATE

Ten Past Seven are putting together the most special of physical releases for funders for this project. Seriously, it's going to be amazing. The lads have a full update on their site.

WINDINGS: NEW DOUBLE A-SIDE 7" EN ROUTE!
We've got 2 new mastered windings tunes in our hands. They're both mega. So, we'll be putting them out as a limited 7" in January (OOAL0023) - the tunes in question are 'The Space I Occupy' and 'The Hassle'.  Before all that, 'The Hassle' will be released as an Interactive Online Video. If it sounds fancy, that’s because it sort of is. 'The Hassle' is known to fans of windings as “the one with the cowbell”, but this interactive video experience transends even cowbell! We’ve already said too much, just make sure to keep an eye at http://www.windingswindings.com over the next two weeks or so!

OOAL0022: WHAT IS IT?
Maths fans there may have noticed that OOAL0021 = Owensie tape and OOAL0023 = windings 7". So, what is OOAL0022? All we can say for the moment is that it will be the first 12" LP ever released on the label (crazy, we know) and it'll be out before the end of the year. We'll be announcing via our site on December 8th. It'll be special.
 

THE NEW REINDEER AGE
A great new compilation of Limerick acts including windings and Vertigo Smyth called 'The New Reindeer Age' has been compiled by Keith from the Indie Limerick blog. All proceeds go to a great cause - The Limerick Learning Hub. There's a launch in Dolan's on December 3rd, and we strongly advise people in the vicinity to make their way there!

SHOW WITH RICHTER COLLECTIVE
Crawdaddy in Dublin are planning some tasty label nights in January. We'll be teaming up with our good pals at The Richter Collective on January 13th for a very special night indeed. More details to follow..

About Us

Out On A Limb Records is an independent record label based in Limerick City, Ireland. The label was set up in the summer of 2003 with the release of "Is it OK to be loud, Jesus?", the debut album from local band giveamanakick. Since then, we've put out records for a number of bands, including Crayonsmith, giveamanakick, Hooray For Humans, Owensie, Rest, Ten Past Seven, Waiting Room and windings, along with a number of split 7" singles and digital releases.

The label is very much run on a DIY ethos, and aims to continually release innovative, quality recordings that are kept to a low cost for the listener. All OOAL releases can be found in all good record shops in Ireland. While currently we don't have overseas distribution, all releases are available worldwide via our website. All releases since 2007 have also been available digitally.
