NEW RELEASE
An ode to a silver-haired guitar hero and a scintillating slice of orchestral pop make for cosy bedfellows on the first Out On A Limb Records Split 7” release since 2006, featuring two previously unreleased tracks from two of Ireland's brightest talents. OOAL’s own windings return with their first release since the infectious debut single “Brain Fluid” caught folks on the hop in April; “Old Like J”, their contribution to OOAL0013 displays a somewhat different side to the Limerick outfit. OOAL are delighted to welcome Co. Clare’s Vertigo Smyth on board for this release, with the sweeping “The Armada Song”. It’s the first VS release since his debut EP "Future Happiness" in 2008, which received widespread national airplay, and attention further afield in the UK and the US.
The release will be supported by a string of live dates (see side) around Ireland, where the 7” will be available for purchase (each release will also come with a digital download). With beautiful artwork for each side, these singles will be available on a limited basis, and each will be individually hand-numbered.
The single will be released on July 29th. This release has been kindly supported by the Clare County Council Arts Office.
This tracks are now available to stream from the OOAL myspace

Out On A Limb Records is an independent record label based in Limerick City, Ireland. The label was set up in the summer of 2003 with the release of "Is it OK to be loud, Jesus?", the debut album from local band giveamanakick. Since then, we've put out records for a number of bands, including Crayonsmith, giveamanakick, Hooray For Humans, Owensie, Rest, Ten Past Seven, Waiting Room and windings, along with a number of split 7" singles and digital releases.
The label is very much run on a DIY ethos, and aims to continually release innovative, quality recordings that are kept to a low cost for the listener. All OOAL releases can be found in all good record shops in Ireland. While currently we don't have overseas distribution, all releases are available worldwide via our website. All releases since 2007 have also been available digitally.
